Senior Project Accountant

A leading multinational based in Dublin City is seeking a Senior Project Accountant to work closely with various finance and non-finance stakeholders to support their business strategies and objectives.

The successful candidate will drive efficiencies and continuous improvements in finance and will represent the function in the implementation of a new ERP system, in addition to other exciting projects. This role has a direct report and is part of the senior leadership team, while reporting to the Finance Director.

The Role 

  • Act as a central point of contact while liaising with the core project team to assist with the successful implementation of a new ERP system.
  • Undertake tasks such as supporting data migration, testing, training, analysis and other inputs on an ad-hoc basis.
  • Manage, drive and influence the development and implementation of system and process improvements for the business.
  • Responsible for assessing the new system and its reporting capability within the new environment and defining the future of the finance reporting.
  • Support the development and implementation of new divisional systems/software.
  • Being part of the project team, attending relevant meetings and workshops.
  • Testing the flow of legacy system and new system through to the financial result.
  • Liaising with other finance teams to ensure source data is updated for new process.
  • Documenting new process and sharing with relevant teams to ensure seamless transition.
  • Performing financial risk assessments on these systems.
  • Preparation and presentation of monthly project pack to management team.
  • Sharing knowledge and influencing others to drive efficiencies and continuous improvements.

The Candidate 

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA) with 3 years’ minimum PQE in a project accounting role, driving change.
  • Highly developed stakeholder management, influencing & negotiating skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload, take initiative, problem solve and manage own time.
  • Highly organised with good planning and project management skills.
  • Ability to challenge the business and set high standards.
  • Knowledge of SAP or another ERP system preferred.
