Chief Financial Officer (Non-Profit / Charity)

Armont Recruitment have partnered with a highly successful non-profit charity organisation, seeking an ambitious Chief Financial Officer (CFO) to take responsibility for their finance, operations and compliance functions within their continuously growing business.

The role reports to the CEO, providing leadership to the board and the senior leadership team. As part of the senior leadership team the CFO will demonstrate financial expertise, business acumen and experience to ensure that decisions are made on a well-informed and balanced basis.

This opportunity will suit a qualified accountant who is highly motivated, energetic and keen to make a difference. They will have head of finance experience to date, be a natural and focused leader, have strong interpersonal skills and a passion for excellence. They will naturally have an attraction towards the sector, perhaps a desire or mindset to ‘give back’. The role is very fulfilling and will allow the holder to support and develop the strategic ambition of the business.

The Role

• Oversight of financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting, including presenting financial and management accounts to all relevant stakeholders.
• Oversight of the financial operations to include managing the accounting, legal, tax, and cash flow within the business.
• Ensuring that the organisation is compliant with all relevant legal, fiscal, procurement and regulatory requirements. Responsible for all compliance matters of the organisation and its subsidiaries, collaborating closely with the Board Audit and Risk Committee.
• Oversight of internal and external audits.
• Contributing to broader transformation initiatives in a leadership capacity.
• Working with all stakeholders to identify and execute suitable opportunities to grow the business and increase its income streams in line with the agreed strategy.
• Oversight of the IT and operations function.
• Work with the CEO to develop and lead a culture of continuous improvement.
• Critically and constantly reviewing processes and procedures to ensure that systems and resources remain fit for purpose.

The Candidate

• Professional Accounting qualification with experience of managing finance teams and operating in a leadership role.
• Someone who places a high value on compliance, risk management and governance and can oversee the efficient delivery of analysis and reporting while retaining focus on the strategic objectives of the role.
• A person with good business acumen and commercial awareness to enable the company to deliver its objectives in an affordable and cost-effective manner.
• A clear and agile thinker with an ability to make decisions.
• Good project management and organisation skills and ability to deliver to agreed timelines.
• Excellent communication skills as the role involves ongoing interactions with internal and external audiences.
• Ability to always motivate and manage staff with respect and empathy.
• Maintains the highest ethical and professional standards of probity and integrity.

The Rewards

• Salary, circa €95,000 to €100,000
